Obiettivi formativi
Knowledge and understanding: Learning specialized skills on laboratory fluid dynamics. The student will acquire: a solid background on the fundamentals of rotating fluids and turbulent flows and deepening physical and mathematical physical analysis methods. Applying knowledge and understanding: ability to create models of physical reality in the laboratory; ability to use autonomously measurement techniques and analysis of advanced data

Programma
Tecniche sperimentali fluidodinamiche: PIV (Particle Image Velcocimetry) e LIF (Laser induced Fluorescency)
Insight into the behavior of real fluids (in rotating and non-rotating environments), with special reference to turbulence and dispersion applied to real experimental cases.
Fluid-dynamic esprimental techniques: PIV (Particle Image Velcocimetry) and LIF (Laser induced Fluorescence).
Laboratory experiences with preliminary discussions of all relevantl setup and execution issues.
Hints of data analysis using Matlab.
Laboratory sessions (4h each one) with measurements using image analysis-based tecniques and traditional instrumentation. Measured data are processed with various software and presented in six report, one for each experiment.
